The range of the RZR Remote start is “up to 1500 feet”

What this means is that in the optimal situation with absolutely no other radio interference, the system can be operated at a range of 1500 feet. Is that the range that the RZR remote start will operate from? Maybe… but most likely not, there are a few factors that will adversely affect the range of the system. For the optimal 1500′ of range the antenna should be mounted in the highest point possible in the vehicle, but away from any metal surfaces, so unless you are running without a cage, it cant go to the highest point in the vehicle, as its all metal !

Here are the keys to having optimal range

The first step to having optimal range in your RZR is to try the antenna in multiple places before choosing the final mounting location, during the installation. If you are running any car to car communications or radio, the antennas from these other devices can be a factor to diminishing the range of the remote starter. Moving the antenna to multiple locations and testing the system will give you the best range. Make sure that the mounting location for the antenna is at least 2 inches away from any metal surface. Often the antenna can be located an mounted under the dash piece and the system will still have decent range (500-800 feet). If the range is desired to be more than 800 feet, the antenna must be located as high as possible. There are also outside factors that will affect the range. Luckily most of the places we enjoy riding are not loaded with radio interference, but it does still happen. so unless you ride here: you will encounter some RF interference times. Physical obstructions can also diminish range and should be considered if there is a situation of diminished range. Lastly making sure that the remote batteries are sufficiently charged or in good condition will give optimal range, depending on the frequency of use it is recommended that the battery is replaced annually.
